Summary of Job

This position is responsible for the collection of payments from clients on behalf of the company. Supervising a team of analysts/clerks and oversee the timely and accurate invoicing of customers and the handling of overdue payments according to the company's policies. Further, this position is responsible for credit reviews of existing customers, assess credit worthiness of potential customers, and work on the application of a credit policy. This position is also Responsible for trade management programs and its appropriate application.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Setting objectives for the account receivable team that align with the accounting department's goals.

• Support Accounts Receivable teams on a daily basis and train new team members.
• Ensure all team members follow the accounting principles.
• Ensure high-quality invoicing and collection procedures that comply with the law.
• Negotiate with clients in non-payment cases.
• Proactively manage account receivables collections, deductions and credit applications.
• Responsible for managing cash application, deduction clearing, new customer setups and credit limit analysis.
• Oversee the creation/approval of new customers in the ERP system.
• Assists with AR related accounting reserves (OSD, Bad debt, others).
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reports.
• Maintain customer agreements and brokerage on the ERP systems (Baan & GO Simple) on a daily basis.
• Reconcile AR, Trade programs and Rebates Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Work closely with other departments to solve issues related to Customer Promotions, Rebates, GO Simple, credit applications. (Customer Services- Sales etc.).
• Main liaison with Brokers and Sales Reps responding their requests on a timely manner.
• Stay updated on industry and legislative changes.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited University.
• Three to five years of experience on the following areas:
• Accounts receivable
• Bad Debt Allowance analysis
• Trade Management
• Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations (preferred)
• Risk management (preferred)

• Baan IV financial or other financial ERP application experience is preferred.
• Must be bilingual with fluent use of the English & Spanish language.
